Saturday 18th 10-11.30am & 12-1.30pm @ Guildhall Club Rooms.

During the workshop, young people will work with a professional theatre maker and a digital artist from the company to develop new and existing skills in these art forms. The workshops will also offer young people advice on how to start a career in the arts.

Participants will also be offered reduced price tickets to Exposure on the performance of their choice. Tickets are usually priced at £12 but any young person attending the free workshop will get a ticket for only £3.

Fifth Word is committed to developing new audiences and aim to encourage those who don’t ordinarily attend the theatre to experience live performance.

Day 5 of rehearsals for ‘Everybody Look At Me’.

Things are going well in the rehearsal room, with ALL cast still smiling, and director taking the process all in his stride. Most lines are more than learnt now and the cast are able to more expressive with their acting. Props are minimal at this stage and there is only a wicker basket in the acting space that appears to be used as a chair (im informed this is an acting cheslonge). At this stage the actors are light hearted and have boundless amounts of energy.

I snatched a moment with conscientious director and asked him for his quote of the day, his answer was as follows…

The quote is originally by Dr Spencer johnson, he is clearly a god in the eyes of mr Daly.

Things are getting exciting in the Fifth Word camp as rehearsals get under way.  Day 2 of rehearsals went well, with both director and cast excited about the forth coming project.

Director Darren Daly will be giving us his quote of the day, during rehearsals, so look out for that folks. His quote appears to be rather cryptic, so i decided to find out who Johnson was. Good old Wikipedia informed me of the following…

Spencer Johnson is known for his 1998 motivational book, titled Who Moved My Cheese?: An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life. It has stayed on the New York Times Bestseller list, and has remained on the Publishers Weekly Hardcover nonfiction list. Johnson is Chairman of Spencer Johnson Partners.

Johnson also wrote the book “Yes” or “No”: The Guide to Better Decisions (1992), which has been translated into a number of languages including Spanish, Korean and German . He co-authored the One Minute Manager series of books with management writer Ken Blanchard, tho each author has added their own books to the series. His latest book is Peaks And Valleys.

Johnson’s books have been translated into twenty-six languages.

Hmmmmmmmm very interesting it appears Darren Daly is a big fan of Dr Johnson.
