The Project:
The woman who claims the devil is in love with her daughter, The father who cooked his son in a stew and the monster who claims she has snakes for hair but is still beautiful! This doesn’t sound like your usual Greek myths- but you are watching Pear Tree School’s own interpretation. With King Midas as the host of the ‘You are Gold’ chat show, the pupils of Pear Tree School take you on a journey through three of the famous myths.

Fifth Word worked alongside 12 pupils to stage an original performance of The pomegranate seeds, The gory story of Tantalus and the infamous Medusa. Fifth Word delivered eight sessions exploring and using the young people’s ideas to create a script and put it on its feet. Working in partnership with Fifth Word on this project was visual artists from Artblock who alongside 20 other pupils created the imaginative set and props for the show.
