All our workshops are bespoke - from creative projects to address achievement and attainment in literacy to after school drama clubs to meet the extended schools agenda, we can help with projects of every nature. Mantle of the Expert

Mantle of the Expert (MOE) is a dramatic- inquiry appraoach to teaching and learning that aims to empower pupils by making them 'experts' in the running of an enterprise. Fifth Word has had the unique opportunity to be mentored by Dorothy Heathcote who pioneered this model of working.

Through activities and tasks, the children gradually take on the same kinds of responsibilities, problems and challenges that real 'experts' such as archaeologists, scientists and rescue teams might do in the real world. The Mantle of the Expert system is an approach to the whole curriculum.

The idea is to create an imagined context, for the development of skills, and the acquisition of knowledge. After working on MOE projects Fifth Word is now convinced more than ever that this is the most sophisticated model of learning available to teachers and young people.
